We have held back skin updates from the main repository because of this, but now that it is fixed, they will begin rolling out in a few weeks. This is intended as a bug-fix release only, no new features have been introduced. We recommend that all users update to 10.1 as soon as possible to increase stability. The main focus of this release is to address a bug that could cause XBMC to freeze when updating a skin. While we are moving quickly to get new features into 11.0, the time has come for a maintenance release for Dharma. XBMC is a fantastic media center although if you don't want to go to the hard work of customizing it for Macs, Plex may offer you a better alternative. Finally, there are playlist and slideshow functions, a weather forecast feature and many audio visualizations. If you want it to detect what you have, XBMC will scan all of your media and automatically create a personalized library complete with box covers, descriptions, and fanart. For example, XBMC can play CDs and DVDs directly from the disk or image file, most popular video formats on your hard drive, and even files inside ZIP and RAR archives. You can stream your multimedia from anywhere in the house or directly from the internet using practically any protocol available. XBMC can be used as a standalone player or to stream videos over a network. XBMC supports a huge range of r emote controls and keyboard shortcuts, and it feels like a real entertainment center. XBMC functions very well as a standard media player although it's far better if you use as a complete home hub for your entertainment needs. Some of them are absolutely stunning and blow Front Row out of the water. Confluence is used by default, so this is what will greet you upon install but you may wish to change it to something else using some of the free skins here. Pretty simple, complicated having less features and still being considered a remote, but might be useful to showcase the concept.XBMC has a highly “skinnable” interface meaning that it can look radically different based on which skin is used. Improvements in design, some changes in code to come. ( ) the app is compatible now with OS X El Capitan, goodbye to the super crashes in the last OS X!.( ) the app is now reporting crashes and tracking installs, to give devs more insight about how Kodi can be improved. Please note that for using remote calls to Kodi/XBMC you'll need to enable JSON RPC server! And if you want to modify the app yourself, you will need to create a "ist" files, in order to provide your credentials. The idea for the project came after using some mobile remotes for Kodi, where you don't get a response as fast as in a computer, and you also miss the physical response that a computer keyboard provides. The project uses CocoaPods and is developed in XCode 7, with Swift 2.0 (after the starting point with XCode 6.4 and Swift 1.2). The project is being developed by Carolina Barreiro and Adrián Moreno, and suggestions of things to come are needed (in case anyone finds this useful!) Remote Kodi for OS X is a very simple native remote for Kodi/XBMC, written in swift.
